We were having dilemma either to stay in a big hotel but crowded OR smaller one but private. Then our good friends recommended us the boutique Rock Hua Hin so we went for the latter one and it was a great call. The resort is low-rise building cascading from the front to back to meet the white sand and beautiful sea.
Nice pool, nice location, nice people. Rent a motobike is a good option.
Opposite the hotel is agreat restaurant, called 'huahin ralug' which served the nicest food that we had eaten in Thailand. Thats quite difficult to do and even if it looks empty, you should try it. There is an older guy there who doesn't have great eye sight - he is the maitre dix and is a generally likeably guy. It takes thai food a little step further than curries and stirfries and fresh seafood. There is also a great restaurant called the Moon Terrace (17 Naresdamri Road on the docks of Hua Hin Fish Market). You go to Hua Hin for food and if you go to these restaurants, you will be impressed.
